Marcus Aurelius Carus was a Roman emperor who reigned from 282 to 283. He is remembered for the final suppression of the authority of the Senate, declining to accept their ratification of his election and informing them haughtily. He was Numidian, not Moorish
Amazing man ! I find it a shame that a lot of people still cannot reconcile that Hadrian was Gay man and that being so, can actually be a Big Bonus in being a General - Emperor. Good video once you get past the somewhat Irritating Narration. Is this a real person or AI...?
Best choice for background music
I saw a video saying that the bust of Probus is “an example of the degeneration of Roman art”. Maybe they didn’t consider that’s how he actually may have looked? I personally don’t see Roman art losing distinguishment until around the reign of Constantine
It’s scary how good AI is becoming
Zenobia = Potema Septim
Can’t go much lower than the praetorian guard
The praetorian guard was a disgrace to Rome
I would assume he died in battle against the Persians. From the way Philip the Arab handled his death it seems there was no plot
Canimus et canimus 💪
No mention of one of Augustuses most famous quotes "Varus give me back my legions"......
He got a lot of goth gfs
Philip is not arab name
Philip is a Syriac Christian, not an Arab. Arabs are only in the desert... .

Is this channel still alive? I loved the recent videos
Can’t find episode 37 very easily. But wanted to say switching to John (probably money driven) is a poor choice won’t be watching anymore videos.
What a mess the Romans became...
Funny how Sulla's proscriptions always are a cruel and "dark chapter" while never mentioning that this was in response to the Marians having executed anyone that was even suspected of sympathy with Sulla before this.
Behind the times obviously, but this narrator is a step down. Not sure I can keep watching with this choice.
Neat info, but your pronunciations of even basic names is pretty terrible. Still glad for the info, but maybe take a little time to research Latin pronunciation, even if you say it the ecclesiastical way and with a British accent it would be better than butchering it completely.
Each time I see Elagabalus bust, i always find myself thinking "Dang, he's good lookin!"
Living relative of Gaius Asinius Pollio here o7
2:45 "Payter"?!?! Seriously Briitish guy? Wow.
23 and me says I'm related to this guy
The Sassanid Persians wrote in stone what they said happened to Gordian III at Naqsh-e Rustam, in Greek, Persian and Parthian I believe. One translation: "When at first we had become established in the empire, Gordian Caesar raised in all of the Roman Empire a force from the Goth and German realms and marched on Babylonia [Assyria] (Asuristan) against the Empire of Iran and against us. On the border of Babylonia at Misikhe, a great 'frontal'battle occurred. Gordian Caesar 4. was killed and the Roman force was destroyed. And the Romans made Philip Caesar. Then Philip Caesar came to us for terms, and to ransom their lives, gave us 500,000 denars, and became tributary to us. And for this reason we have renamed Misikhe Peroz-Shapur. "
Emperor Justinian was an lllyrian/ Dardan/ Albanian, and the Byzantium was an Illyrian Empire! Emperor Constantin was an lllyrian/ Albanian, and the Byzantium was an Illyrian Empire! Komnenians Dinasty was Illyrian/ Albanian! Alexander the Great was Illyrian/Albanian! The history must be rewritten!

His one mistake was dying.
Wow. All these triggered white dudes. Relax. You don’t if he had black genes either.
Septimius Severus was born in the city of Leptis Magna, Libya. He set off from Libya and became emperor of Rome. His origins are Libyan from an Italian mother. He was from North Africa, the Mediterranean, not Black, from Sub-Saharan Africa.
Considering the many difficult hurdles Severus had to overcome to become emperor and the many wars he won, Machiavelli may have been right to give him as ideal prince according to him.Having the strength of the lion and the cunning of the fox.
Incredible of how France is stacked with roman amphitheater and theater There is also Lyon, Vienne and Frejus (But Frejus amphiteater has been refurbished and today it looks ugly sadly)

Is that Pyrocynical?
I think revisionist history has gone too far downplaying the barbarity of the German tribes. They were literal monsters, swooping down on the defenseless, despoiling the land and hauling away entire populations into a living death. If only Marcus Aurelius had lived long enough to fully pacify Germania. Perhaps the empire would have been able to whether the crisis and not fall to the Christian death-cult that destroyed it.
He reminds me of some girls I’ve known, righteous and intelligent, but too naive to subdue real threats.
Domitian proclaimed himself God and Emperior. exit the Flavians
Titus only mistake was to be born! Titus destroyed the God's Temple in Jerusalem and caused the slaughter of thousands of innocent people in AD 70. God said " I will bless those who bless Judea/Israel, and whoever curses Judea/Israel I will curse." The slopes of the mountain were so cultivated, that the people did not even know there was a volcano there until Vesuvius erupted just 4 months into his reign in 79 AD. There was a fire which devastated Rome and at the same time a plague broke out sweeping through Rome. Titus died on September 13, 81. He was Emperor for only 2 years, and left his younger brother Domition as Emperor. Rome was being truly cursed.
the narrative is difficult to listen to, but otherwise it's an excellent post

The Romans may have added some stuff here but the basic construction of this place occurred long before they existed.
You can see he was from the Balkans just by his stature and face construction His bust reminds me of my grandfather
He was from Libya 💚💚💚💚
Fuori Roma non c'erano i ladroni di oltretevere che hanno costruito loro palazzi e e le loro chiese usando il materiale della Roma imperiale , distruggendola.
I showed a physician friend a sestertius and several denarii of Max Thrax. He asked about Max's height. I replied that he was extremely tall. The doctor diagnosed Max as either having Marfan Syndrome or, more likely, acromegaly. The late wrestler André the Giant had acromegaly. So, the legends of his great height may be true.
The Romans of the late empire were spoiled, arrogant, ungrateful SOBs.
How many times in history the great man was killed, because of some low life.
